THE BOOK OF SURVEY AND DISTRIBUTIONThe Book of Survey and Distribution 1636 - 1703 given an account of forfeited land in Co. Cork as returned by the Down Survey. It showed who landowners were in 1641 and to whom the lands were given by Acts of Settlement 1684 and 1688; trustee sales of forfeited lands; under Commission of Grace 1684 and other headings.
Surrender is a copy relating to Lisgoold Parish.

It must be noted that Townland boundaries of the 17th & 18th centuries differed widely from those recognised since the mid 19th century. It was Richard Griffith Commissioner of valuation who mainly defined the boundries of townlands which are generally accepted today.
Ballygregane was the ancient name for an unidentified townland in the Lisgoold Leamlara area. It may be Carrigane.
