  • LDS INFORMATION:
If anyone has any questions concerning posting to the internet material copied from any LDS films, please phone the following number; 1-800-453-3860, ext. 5018
Ask for Nikki Miller, she is an attorney in the LDS legal department, and can give you guidance to what can be posted, and what is 'off limits.'

I have spoken with her, and a good general rule seems to be this: If the records can be found in a National Archive or library, ie. census , ship lists, then it is available to post, but items such as biographies, family histories, and certain parish records may need the permission of the original author or church authority.

If you are unsure, please phone Ms. Miller.

Give the region World Miscellaneous a search for your dead ends. It turns out that if during extraction or data entry the location was spelled incorrectly, absent or otherwise did not conform to a standard, the record was dumped into this category. I recently found some Irish Ancestors whose location was listed as "Presbyterian Church".
  • Hint 1911 Census Numbers - Registration district numbers Submitted by Denis Grant to Rootsweb mailing list.
From www.familysearch.com choose Custom Search. Page down and click on Family History Library Catalog. Click on Place Search. In Place put Cork, in Part of put Ireland. From the list that comes up choose Ireland Cork Cork (i.e., for Cork City in Cork County).. From the next list choose 1911 Census. By choosing any of the Parishes that come up and the clicking on Film Notes (Top Right) you will get a listing of the D.E.D.s, Townlands bordering the City, and the streets in each D.E.D as well as the corresponding Film Numbers.
